Rajinikanth watches edited copy of 'Kochadaiyaan'

Superstar Rajinikanth along with Tamil director K.S Ravikumar watched the first edited copy of his upcoming Tamil period-drama "Kochadaiyaan" Thursday here.

"Today (Thursday), the fully edited movie was viewed by superstar Rajinikanth, K.S. Ravikumar and his entire team along with Soundarya Rajinikanth," a statement from the production house said.

"Ravikumar said that the film was thrilling, big in canvas and much larger in grandeur than he ever anticipated," the statement added.

"Kochadaiyaan" is Asia's first motion capturing film, which uses the technology only previously used in "Avatar" and "Tintin". It went on floors in March 2012 in Pinewood Studios, London and was completed in 25 days.

The team was busy in the post production work since last few months in Chennai and London.

Directed by debutant Soundarya R. Ashwin, the film also stars R. Sarath Kumar, Aadhi Pinisetty, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Jackie Shroff and Nassar.

Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment have jointly produced the film, which has music by A.R Rahman.

The post-production work will start in full swing from March 15.

Ethir Neechal release in April

Vendhar movies bought the theatrical rights for Ethir Neechal in Tamilnadu. R.S.Durai Kumar wielded the megaphone for the first time. Dhanush produced this movie under Wunderbar Films.

Anirudh Ravichandran tunes are already creating a huge sensation in chartbusters. Sivakarthikeyan, Priya Anand and Nanditha are playing the main leads.

Vendhar movies also got the rights of Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie Gauravam which releases in March. Debutant Allu Sirish and Vicky Donor fame Yami Gautam are pairing up as the main leads. Prakash Raj will be seen in a prominent role. Radha Mohan wielded the megaphone and music is composed by S.S.Thaman.

Lakshmi Rai filed a case on Kumudam magazine

Lakshmi Rai filed a case against weekly magazine Kumudam. The magazine was restrained from publishing news about her. Kumudam had published an interview of Lakshmi Rai stating, “Sharing a same room with a good friend is not a crime.” Lakshmi Rai denied such an interview and filed a case against Kumudham.

Justice R Sudhakar granted the injunction while passing interim orders on an application arising out of a civil suit from Lakshmi Rai, who had acted in Tamil films like Karka Kasadara, Mangathaa and Onbadhula Guru, praying for a direction to the weekly and its reporter to pay Rs 30 lakh towards damages for publishing articles in its issues dated February 27 and March 6 this year.

Celebrations for 100 years of South Indian cinema

South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) lead by committee of 4 has decided to celebrate 100 years of South Indian Cinema in a grandeur style. Committee has also decided to invite President of India along with Chief Ministers of all the 4 states.

Earlier C Kalyan, president, SIFCC said, "This is going to be a grand affair. We are all fortunate to be present to celebrate such a momentous occasion and we thought that South India should kick start the celebrations."

They are also planning to announce whole week industry holidays so that all the stars will attend this event. Kalyan said "We are most probably having it between April 26 and 28 in Chennai. The programme will include felicitations of all those who have made a difference in the industry. During the day we will have talks and workshops on filmmaking, while we will have music, dance and other talents showcased in the evenings. The final day will be a gala night, featuring prominent faces from across all industries."

Vattikuchi release on March 15

Vattikuchi is getting ready to hit the screens on March 15. A. R. Murugadoss produced this film in association with Fox Star Studios and Kinslin wielded the megaphone. A.R.Murugadoss’s brother Dhileban is making his debut with this film.

Anjali will be playing the female lead and M.Ghibran composed the tunes for this film. Kinslin is currently working on post-production and movie will be released after the censor work.

G.V.Prakash to compose anthem for Hyderabad Sunrisers

Composer G.V. Prakash Kumar has been roped in to compose the anthem for Sunrisers Hyderabad for the next season of Indian Premiere League (IPL).

G.V.Prakash tweeted, "Signed up to do the anthem for Sunrisers for IPL." He is also busy with his upcoming flicks Udhayam NH4, JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai, Nimirndhu Nil, Janda Pai Kapiraju (Telugu), Raja Rani, Thalaivaa.

As per sources, G.V.Prakash will play the lead role as music composer in a movie produced by Murugadoss. This movie and shooting will commence from the March. More details of this movie will be out soon.

Nothing such as trend in films: C.S Amudhan

Tamil director C.S Amudhan says he doesn't believe in trends because films succeed if they are good, as audiences are always hungry for different films.

"There is nothing called as a trend in filmmaking. Good films from different genres have always co-existed as audiences are hungry for content. Films such as 'Pizza' and 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom' belong to two different genres and yet were successful," Amudhan said.

"It's the content that decides the fate of a film at the box-office, but not some trend," he added.

Having made a successful debut with Tamil spoof comedy "Tamizh Padam", he is busy wrapping up his second Tamil film "Rendavathu Padam".

"We're trying to keep everything secretive about the film. All I can say about the film is that it's not a spoof comedy. We want to surprise the audience with the content," he said.

The film features an ensemble cast of Vimal, Aravind Akash, Richard, Vijayalakshmi, Remya Nambeesan, Sanjana Singh, Chetan, Suresh and R.S Sivaji.

Amudhan says comedy is a safe genre only if one knows how to work around it well.

"It is safe if you know how to do it. Basically, one needs to have it in him or her to play with this genre. As assumed by many, it is not safe if you don't know the tricks of the trade," he said.

Meanwhile, he is also busy scripting two projects and wants to stay away from comedy for a while.

Karthi to simultaneously shoot two films

Tamil actor Karthi Sivakumar, who recently stopped shooting for upcoming Tamil romantic-comedy "Biriyani", has now decided to continue filming for it along with working on the comedy "All In All Azhagu Raja".

"Karthi will do 'All In All Azhagu Raja' and 'Biriyani' both parallely. He kicked off shooting for the former Friday here with test and still shoot," said a statement from production house.

He is paired opposite Kajal Agarwal in "All In All Azhagu Raja", which is helmed by M. Rajesh. The shooting will happen in and around Kumbakonam, Pollachi Gobichettipalayam, Tenkasi, Ambasamuthiram and various other places in Tamil Nadu.

Almost 60 percent of "Biriyani", directed by Venkat Prabhu, is done. It also features Hansika, Premgi Amaren, Ramki, Mandy Takhar, Vaibhav Reddy, Sampath Raj and Sam Anderson.

Yaan completes its second schedule

Jeeva is pairing with Kadal fame Thulasi Nair for the first time in Yaan. Ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran is wielding the megaphone. Oscar award winner Resul Pokutty is in charge for sound mixing and music has been composed by Harris Jayraj. Sabu Cyril will also be working as art director for Yaan.

Yaan completed its shooting part in Hyderabad, Chennai and Karjat. Director Ravi K Chandran tweeted, “Yaan "long second schedule wrapped up today .around 65 % of the film is over .We r left with 5 songs,4 action & 20days Morocco schedule. Thanks to our producer and his team for the complete support n management, Cast and crews hard work and involvements made this possible.”

Yaan is a high budget film which has also got other stars like Prakash Raj, Nassar in the supporting roles. Elred Kumar and Jayaraman are producing this film under R.S.Infotainment.

No Openings For Smoking Heroine

Much publicity was done about the smoking scene of Isha Chawla, the female lead in the film 'Mr Pellikoduku'.

Indeed, either this smoking heroine or 6 pack hero could being openings for the film that released today. The situation is pretty bad in Hyderabad but relatively ok in other places of the state.

On a whole, the percentage of openings is shocking that never happened for any of Sunil's films in recent times. The multiplexes have recorded not more than 40 percent as per preliminary reports.

Adding to this, the talk was bad leaving the film to face the trouble at box office.

Big Disappointment for 'Jagan'

We have seen the promising performance of Prince Mahesh Babu's 'Baava' in his debut movie 'SMS'. Currently, the hero is busy with few more projects. Now, Mahesh's cousin Siva is all set to make a debut in tollywood with an interesting titled movie 'jagan'. Earlier, this movie has been titled as 'jagan Nirdoshi'. But now, 'Nirdoshi' was cut by the makers due to unknown reasons. The movie was earlier supposed to be released on 28th February. However, due to financial issues, the movie has been postponed. The new date of the release of the movie will be revealed by the makers soon.  Shruthi Reddy and Sanjjanaa are doing opposite to Siva in this movie. Amar Mohile is scoring the music of  the movie. Venkanna Babu is directing this movie while Mallikarjuna Rao and Thota Hemasundar are producing it.

Nag Feels So Sorry for Chaitu

One cannot doubt the sincerity of nagarjuna to make his sons Naga Chanitanya and Akhil to stand on their strengths in film industry. Chaitanya expressed the interest to settle in films long ago and is struggling to attain a versatile image like dad while Akhil is still in the training stages to plan for a decent debut. Ever since Chaitu's 'Autonagar Surya' was shelved due to financial distress of RR Movie Makers, there are suggestions flowing in on why not nagarjuna ged involved to sort out the issues. After all, entire chaos began with over-budgeted 'Damarukam' from the same banner and 'Autonagar Surya' is bearing the brunt.  Director Deva Katta is a powerful storyteller and he has many hopes pinned on the project is utterly digusted with recent happenings. Meanwhile, sources say that nagarjuna has nothing to do at this stage other than feeling sorry for Chaitu because it's a part of his business principles.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization( UNESCO) declared Warangal as the World Heritage City. It's a rare and prestigious honour to the city. It is a known thing that the city is of the historical importance through its 1000 pillar temple, Ramappa Gudi etc. Being a world heritage city, the city will get crores of rupees for the development of tourism in this area. Having sworn in as a tourism minister, chiranjeevi released Rs.25 lakhs for the city for the conduct of Kakathiya festival. Thereafter, chiranjeevi has reportedly tried to get the world heritage status to the city, and finally his attempts went on fruitful. "This is one of the best achievements of chiranjeevi under his regime", say the political analysts. Krishnam Raju Threatens Prabhas Fans!

Grapevine is that Krishnam Raju, himself will be directing this movie. Even though the cast of the movie has not been confirmed yet, prabhas' fans are worrying that if their hero would act in the movie.  The reason for their embarrassment is quite clear. Being an old man, Krishnam Raju's ideology might not be fresh and innovative. Moreover, his health conditions should permit him directing the movie for prolonged days with utmost dedication. There are some people, who complain that Krishnam Raju deliberately interferes in prabhas' projects as he played some of the roles in the movies such as 'Billa' and 'Rebel'. Both the movies could not live upto the expectations at the box office. Let's wait and watch if prabhas is going to be the part of Krishnam Raju's directorial venture or not.

How Much 'M' Paid for SVSC 100 days?

Victory Venkatesh and Prince mahesh babu's 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' completed its 50 days run in 25 direct centers across the globe. It is a known thing that Sudarshan 35mm is one of the most favourite theaters formahesh babu and his fans. Many movies of mahesh babu ran silver jubilees and hundred days in the same theater. His 'SVSC' too, completed 50 days in the same theater but with a deficit of collections.  If the gossips from inside sources are to be believed, a whopping of Rs.23 lakhs have been paid for the exhibitor to run the movie directly for 100 days without any interruption. As per the reports, the movie has to face a weekly deficit of Rs.3.50 lakhs and that is why huge amount is required for its hundred days run. "A fan who is holding a key position is said to have paid the amount. Also, this amount is an all time record for any movie of tollywood so far," say the gossip mongers.

Kollywood Fake at its Peaks

Whenever you talk about the remunerations and the collections of tamil movies, you can hear incredible numbers. At the time of 'Robo's release, we heard the collections of the movie were of somewhere around Rs.300 crores to Rs.500 crores by different media. As far as the remunerations are concerned, they start from Rs.30 crores to Rs.100 crores depending upon the statuses of the star heroes. Interestingly, kollywood has less number of screens than tollywood. Nowadays, Telugu movies are getting more collections in USA than tamil movies. Then how they are getting these collections? As per the makers of the blockbuster film 'Thuppakki', the film collected Rs.180 crores. " In reality, the movie might have collected somewhere around Rs.45 crores to Rs.55 crores", say the observers. However, there were no area wise collections of the movie. The movie was starred by Vijay and Kajal and was directed by Murugadoss.

Director Confirmed Mega Hero's Debut

For the past few days, many gossip about the debut of Mega Brother Nagababu's son varun tej were heard. Meanwhile, the director of family films, Srikanth Addala confirmed that he would be directing a movie in the combo of this mega hero. Also, he revealed that this movie would be produced by Aswini Dutt on his Vyjayanthi Movies banner. The title of the movie has reportedly been confirmed as 'Gollabhama'. More details of this project are awaited.  Srikanth Addala's latest movie 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' was released for this Pongal and got blockbuster result. Especially, the movie ran with thumping collections in Overseas area. Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu were seen as brothers while Prakash Raj and Jayasudha played the roles of their parents. Case Filed Against Hero Tarun!

When film industry and producers are the one who gave life to many youngsters, how can they forget them? This is the question raised by few of the producers like Natti Kumar when hero tarun gave more preference to participate in CCL cricket matches than to attend the shooting schedules of 'Yudhdham.' There was a mere five days trip planned to Bangkok for the completion of total shoot of 'Yudhdham' for which tarun said a no. On the other side, heroes Ramcharan and Prince took a break from CCL and joined the shoots of 'Zanjeer' and an untitled film respectively. In this regard, we hear about Natti Kumar having approached the Actors Guild and lodged a case ontarun's unprofessional behavior. Pooja Gandhi Jumps Ship Again

Actress Pooja Gandhi is turning out to be a professional when it comes to changing parties in politics. In less than two months, she has changed parties twice. After joining BS Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Party earlier, she has on Tuesday sprung a surprise by shifting to BS Sriramulu's BSR Congress. This is her third political party in as many months.
She quit her first party JDS after former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy publicly said the actress was a liability post her film Dandupalya. Smarting at the rebuke she joined KJP when BSY launched it in Haveri. Now, the reason for shift from KJP to BSR Congress is said to be the promise of a seat by the latter. In KJP, her demand for a ticket to contest the upcoming Assembly elections has been rejected, it is learnt. With the entry of Shruti to KJP, Pooja's prominence had also diminished.

The Karnataka Film Producers Cultural Association, a newly floated body is all set to be inaugurated tomorrow by Minister V Somanna in Bangalore.
The newly formed association is not a part of the existing Kannada Film Producers Association and has nothing to do with the KFPA or any other Associations. KFPCA has been formed by Ba Ma Harish as a separate entity and will work towards the welfare of the Kannada film producers.
While Ba Ma Harish is the president of this newly formed Association, S Dinesh Gandhi and D K Ramakrishna has been selected as Vice President and General Secretary respectively. Senior producer R S Gowda is the treasurer of this Association. B R Keshava, Anchehalli Shivakumar, Umesh Banakar, A Ganesh, Kannada Somu, D Krishna, Krishnegowda, Meka Muralikrishna, M G Ramamurthy, N M Suresh and Prafulla Srinivas are the committee members.

But the film has surprised everybody by getting a U certificate. Recently the Regional Board of Film Certification has seen the film and has given a U certificate hereby giving a go ahead for the film.
With the censor certificate in hand, the team of ‘Simple Aag Ond Love Story’ is looking forward to release the film on the 8th of March if everything goes on smoothly. As of now, there is no stiff competition for the film and even the film has raised everybody’s expectations by its new look and feel.

Outline of the Movie:

It is a simple love story narrated in a different way by Director Suni. The pivotal role is played by "Rakshit Shetty" and "Shwetha Srivathsav". Hero plays the role of an Ad maker and runs an Advertisement company. Hero meets heroine and both fall in love unexpectedly and it is portrayed in an unusual way. The whole movie is shot in three different Seasons: Summer, winter and Rainy. Love can be related to different seasons. This movie has adopted a modified old theatre culture and it is an experimental movie with mixture of fun, emotion, good screenplay and Dialogues.

She has taken the hobby to the level of obsession. Both her parents are doctors, but Pranitha has no restriction on eating the cakes she bakes, we guess. Pranitha says she is also missing on her other favourite hobby: swimming. She is a good swimmer but afte entering films, hardly gets time for it. In between her films, Pranitha is now makes time only to read her favourite author Chetan Bhagat.
The Porki star who later went on to act in films like Jarasandha, Bheema Teeradalli, Snehitaru and Mr 420 in Kannada has also tasted success in other industries with films like Baava in Telugu and Udhayan and Saguni in Tamil. Duniya Vijay's first home production, Jayammana Maga, has more 'homely' matters involved in it than what meets the eye. The shooting for the film is complete, but its future, including its release, is firmly entwined with the family problem of the actor. Like most stars who turned producers, Vijay too made his wife the official producer of Jayammana Maga. So, it means that without Nagarathna's nod, the film can neither be released, given to distributors or sold to television. As per law, the 'author' and 'owner' of a feature film is the producer, not even the director. The Copyright Act makes it very clear. So if Vijay wants to see the film released, he has no option but to seek his wife's help. Sources say that Nagarathna is willing to give up her rights for the sake of her husband. The money invested in the film belongs to Vijay and she was only a nominal producer. The family problem between the husband and wife, which has seen Vijay walk out and stay with his parents, has meant a big dealy in the film's release. The problem is becoming more complicated by the day with Vijay pressing charges against a television channel for interviewing his children during the crisis.

Meanwhile, K Manju produced Rajini Kantha, in which Vijay is seen in a double role is releasing this week. Some people in the film industry are predicting that this film will be to Vijay what Sarathi was to Darshan. Darshan was in jail for domestic violence when Sarathi released and became his biggest hit. Now Darshan and his wife are happily back together. It is to be seen if Rajini Kantha will do the same to Vijay.

Actor-director Kiccha Sudeep has once again lent his voice for a song. This time, it is the title track for his upcoming film Bachchan directed by Shashank. The specialty of the song is being the lyrics jointly written by Shashank and Yograj Bhat. The song, "Bachchan Banda Bachchan Banda Baggi Nadi Bachchan Banda," will be shot in a foreign location.
The shooting for the song is the only portion pending. The audio album of the film will be released in March and the film team is gearing up to release the film in April. Sudeep has sung for a few of his films earlier and is counted among the better singers among actors in Sandalwood. Bachchan is the only film of Sudeep pending for release as his next project is yet to be officially announced.
Speaking to Chitraloka, Sudeep recalled all the films he has sung for. He said he sung for, "Chandu, Black n White, Nalla, two songs for Ranga SSLC, Partha, Veera Madhakari, Kempegowda and Bachchan."

Sweety In Dubbing Studio

Radhika-Aditya starrer 'Sweety-Nanna Jodi' which is back from Goa after shooting a prominent song under the choreography of Imraan Sardariya is now in the dubbing studio at Akash. The dubbing for the talkie portions has already been started and is expected to end in the next three days after which the patch work for the film will start in and around Bangalore.
Except for two songs, the film is almost complete. The two songs will be shot in Switzerland in the month of March.
Radhika is planning to make use of the summer holidays and release the film in April.

Rajani Kantha Sure For History Pages

Vijay starrer 'Rajani Kantha' which is all set to release on the 1st of March is all to go in the history pages. The reason for this is, for the very first time in Kannada cinema a film is made about a hero suffering from Harelip.
'Rajani Kantha' is a story of two brothers Rajani and Kantha out of which Rajani suffers from a Harelip. Vijay has portrayed both the characters of Rajani and Kantha and is hopeful that the character of Rajani will win the hearts of the people.
Director Pradeep Raj says this is the first time on the Kannada screen that he is showing such a character. 'We have done a lot of home work and research for the character. More than the problems faced by such people, we have concentrated mainly on the mother son sentiment' says Pradeep Raj.

Vasco Da Gama First Says Komal

Komal who was quite upset over the failure of his last film 'Nandisha' is all set to bounce back. This time Komal has signed not one but two films and the two films will be launched back to back.

The first among the two is 'Vasco Da Gama' to be directed by Madhuchandra who earlier directed 'Cyber Yugadol Madhura Prema Kavyam'. Madhuchandra who is also the brother of dialogue writer Manju Mandavya after he lost in his debut film was looking to bounce back and Komal has helped him by giving his dates.

The second one in the marquee is a film called 'Pungidasa'. As the title is already registered under the Ramu Enterprises banner, Komal has found an alternative title called as 'Bhangidasa'. As of now the film is called as 'Pungidasa' and if Komal doesn't get the required title, then the film will be called as 'Bhangidasa'.

Meanwhile, there was news that Sunil Kumar Desai will be directing a film for Komal and Ananthnag. Komal says that though Sunil Kumar Desai approached him for a film earlier, nothing much has progressed and it is too early to talk about the film.
