Bappi Lahiri to visit Chennai to release debut Tamil song

Bollywood playback singer Bappi Lahiri will visit Chennai Thursday to release a Tamil number he has crooned in upcoming romantic-drama "Karuppampatti".

"Bollywood music legend Bappi Lahiri is coming to Chennai to release his song from the film ''Karuppampatti'," a source close to the film's unit said.

Lahiri has crooned a number called "Disco Naughty Naughty Raja" in the film, which is directed by debutant Prabhu Raja Cholan.

This will be the first Tamil song for the 60-year-old.

While Ajmal Ameer plays the lead in the film, Aparnaa Bajpai and Alice Tantardini too have prominent roles. The film also features Archana, M.S. Bhaskar, Jagan, Srinath and Devadarshini.

Sundar K. has produced the film, which has music by Kannan.

Kochadaiyaan audio release date not confirmed

First Indian motion capture movie Kochadaiyaan (Super star Rajnikanth starrer) audio release date is not confirmed yet. There is a huge buzz about Kochadaiyaan audio release in April but director Soundarya Rajnikanth didn’t confirm the release date.

Soundarya Rajnikanth also declared about the movie progress and tweeted, “Been busy locking the film. In active post production. Dubbing next month..will keep u posted on audio release soon...”

Kochadaiyaan is a complete Indian story about good v/s evil written by K.S.Ravikumar. Sunil Lulla is producing this film with a whopping amount of 125 crores. Deepika Padukone is pairing up with Super star Rajnikanth for the first time. Kochadaiyaan has also got Aadhi, Shobana, and Nassar in their prominent roles and music has been composed by A.R.Rahman.

Neerparavai selected for Jeonju International Film Festival

Neerparavai has got many accolades from audience and also got selected for its international screening at Jeonju International Film Festival in South Korea. Vishnu-Sunaina played the lead roles in Neerparavai.

Director Seenu Ramasamy beautifully narrated the story of a village fisherman. Udhayanidhi Stalin produced this film under Red Giant Studios.

Director said, “It’s an honor to be selected for such a prestigious award. I’m happy it is being shown in Korea which produces some of the best films in the world.”

Neerparavai is selected under non-bollywood film category and Jeonju International Film Festival will take place from April 25 to May 3.

No competition for Ameer in Aadhi Bhagavan

Aadhi Bhagavan team may get some relief as the movie release is on February 22, Friday. After its long shoot for 2 years and few title controversies, the movie ended up with A certificate by Censor board. Jayram Ravi and Neetu Chandra are the main leads.

Director Ameer Sultan also played a pivot role. CBFC suggested changing the title will avoid controversies so he renamed title as Ameer in Aadhi Bhagavan.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has given his tunes and this movie is produced by J.Anbhazagan under Anbu Pictures. This movie is also making its release in United States by ATMUS in association with GK Media.

No other star casting movies are releasing till April. So it may be easy fight for Jayam Ravi as Aadhi Bhagavan.

Prabhas credits team for 'Mirchi' success

The success of Telugu action-drama "Mirchi", which has reaped gold at the box-office, is a team effort and no single person from the unit can claim the success, says actor Prabhas Raju.

"I'm extremely happy with the success of the movie. All of us worked together for one common goal and we have finally achieved it. No single person from the team can claim the success of the film. It was a team effort," Prabhas said.

"I was confident that the movie will do well right from the beginning because I saw the confidence in my director. The passion with which he brought this story, floored me, and I couldn't decline the offer," he added.

"Mirchi", directed by debutant Koratala Siva, collected approximately Rs.24 crore in two weeks worldwide. It released all over Feb 8.

Prabhas is paired opposite Anushka Shetty and Richa Gangopadhyay in the film. The movie narrates how the protagonist wins people's hearts with love and helps in reuniting two rival families.

He says it may have been a commercial film, yet it managed to touch hearts with a message.

"Films nowadays are bound to have commercial elements to draw the attention of masses. 'Mirchi' too has high commercial values, but at the same time weaves a good message, which was unanimously accepted by the audience," he said.

Meanwhile, Prabhas is currently busy filming for Telugu period-drama "Baahubali".

"After 'Chatrapathi', I wanted to work with Rajamouli again but somehow it didn't happen until now. This is an exciting project where I get to ride horses and wield swords. I can't wait for it to come out," said Prabhas.

Akkineni’s Manam shoot from June

Way2movies has earlier informed that Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya are teaming up together for a film. Vikram Kumar of Ishq fame is wielding the megaphone for this prestigious film.

Manam is the title under consideration for the film though an official announcement is not yet made. The regular shooting of the film will commence from the month of June. Samantha is expected to play the lead lady alongside Naga Chaitanya while several top actresses are being considered for the other female lead role though nothing has been finalized.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna will wrap up the shoot of his Greeku Veerudu and Bhai while Naga Chaitanya will complete the Telugu remake of Vettai.

Mirchi collects big in Nizam

Young Rebel Star Prabhas starrer Mirchi has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of his career, and even after a couple of weeks, the film is garnering steady figures at the Box-Office.

This Koratala Siva’s directorial has earned a share of Rs. 11.10 Crores in Nizam area and is still going steady. Mirchi has also done a good business in overseas. Trade pundits report that the film turned out to be a huge hit in USA by collecting around $ 582,224 [Rs 3.16 cr] till Sunday, which is the highest till date for Prabhas in USA.

Anirudh tunes for Lawrence’s Muni-3

Choreographer turned director Raghava Lawrence has selected Anirudh Ravichander as the music director for his next film Muni-3. He named this Kanchana sequel as Ganga(working title) to maintain the same pace like his previous movie Kanchana.

Lawrence has signed Tapsee for the female lead this time. His last flicks from Muni franchise Muni, Muni-2 (Kanchana) turned out to be hits and he is ready once again with the third part horror genre film. The first schedule of the film has already been wrapped up in Chennai and the shoot will resume soon.

Anirudh seems to have been extremely impressed with Lawrence’s story and was quick to grab the opportunity to contribute to Ganga. This film is being produced by Bellam Konda Suresh.

Kevvu Keka wraps up Bangkok schedule

Allari Naresh’s upcoming comedy entertainer titled Kevvu Keka in the direction of Devi Prasad has completed its Bangkok schedule. Few key talkie part scenes including action sequences and songs were canned in the schedule and the team will immediately head to Pollachi for the song shoot on the lead pair Allari Naresh and Sharmila.

With this, the entire shooting comes to an end. Kevvu Keka casting MS Narayana, Jeeva, Nisha, Krishna Bhaghavan, Ali, Mumaith Khan,Ashish Vidhyarth in prominent roles is produced by Boppana Chandra Sekhar under Jahnavi Productions banner while Smt. Neelima will present the movie. Chinni Charan, Bheems composed the music.

The filmmakers are planning to release Kevvu Keka for summer 2013.

Nag’s Greeku Veerudu release in April

Nagarjuna starrer Greeku Veerudu is gearing up for a grand scale release in the month of April. The shooting schedules have almost come to an end and will be wrapped up shortly.

Dasaradh who had hits like Santhosham, Mr.Perfect to his credit is directing the film and Sivaprasad Reddy is producing the film on Sri Kamakshi Kala movies banner. Thaman is the music director.

Nayanatara is playing Nagarjuna’s love interest in this romantic-family drama that has lot of emotional scenes in the latter half. The first look teaser trailer is expected shortly while the film will release for summer.

Varun Tej’s debut film titled Golla Bhama

Baadshah post-production activities begins

Young Tiger Jr.NTR, Kajal Agarwal starrer Baadshah is currently being shot in the exotic locales of Spain where the songs are being canned on NTR and Kajal, and meanwhile the post-production works of the film are simultaneously being progressed.

It is known that Srinu Vytla directed films have many character artistes and Baadshah is no exception. The other supporting artistes of the film are dubbing for the movie in parallel.

Ganesh Babu is producing the film on Sri Parameswara Arts Production banner with script by Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat. Thaman is the music director. Baadshah is touted to be a stylish action entertainer with Srinu Vytla mark comedy.

Priyamani takes training in archery, horse riding

Actress Priyamani has signed up a heroine-centric film titled Chandi in the direction of Samudra and for this, the actress is undergoing training in Archery and hose riding. Recent, she has shot for the sword fight sequences in the film and the filmmakers are in praises for the actress. The first shooting schedule has taken place from February 1^st to 16^th February.

The next schedule will commence from February 27 from to March 15.
